Mechatronics in Healthcare and Biomedical Systems

This volume brings together recent research that demonstrates how intelligent computing is addressing some of today's most important healthcare challenges. The chapters explore a diverse range of applications, including cancer diagnosis, heart disease prediction, sepsis detection, chronic disease monitoring through IoT-enabled healthcare systems, depression recognition from speech signals, and mental stress assessment using behavioural and academic data. While each contribution focuses on a distinct healthcare problem, they are united by a common vision of combining data-driven intelligence with mechatronic sensing and smart healthcare technologies to improve diagnostic accuracy, patient monitoring, and clinical decision support. By bringing together methodological innovations and real-world healthcare applications, this book offers readers a comprehensive perspective on emerging trends in intelligent healthcare. We hope it serves as a valuable resource for researchers, academicians, healthcare professionals, and postgraduate students seeking to advance AI-enabled, mechatronic, and patient-centric healthcare systems.
