Public Sector Ethics in Practice

This book explores how public sector organisations work to promote integrity and fight ethics violations. Integrity and ethical conduct are key to maintaining public confidence in these organisations. Many established and wealthy democracies face a paradoxical situation. While various performance indicators suggest that public governance works comparatively well and with relatively low corruption levels, citizens still perceive corruption and other ethics violations to be pertinent problems. In such contexts, ethics management plays an important role for upholding integrity. This book examines these issues in the context of Sweden, at both national and local levels of government.
