The National Center for Competence in Research, PlanetS: A Swiss-wide network expanding planetary sciences

This open access book summarizes the results of the 12 year research programme of the Swiss National Centre of Competence in Research (NCCR) PlanetS. It comprises 20 peer reviewed scientific chapters covering all areas of (exo-)planetary research including instrument development (for the ELT for example), data acquisition and analysis, modelling, and laboratory work. Those chapters are not intended to be 'historical' but rather emphasizing the state-of-the-art and the contribution that the NCCR has made to that state-of-the-art. In addition the book includes some descriptive chapters about the structure of the NCCR and some lessons learnt.
