Implicit Manipulation in Public Discourse

The book collects recent and updated contributions by some internationally renowned authors on the topic of implicit communication. It provides theoretical original insights on the manipulative use of linguistic implicit strategies, as well as empirical descriptions of their functioning in a variety of contexts. From a theoretical point of view, the chapters offer new perspectives on central general issues in public communication, such as commitment liability and reputation of public speakers.
