Produktbeschreibung

The 4th edition of the textbook- Signals and Systems in Biomedical Engineering presents a systems approach to human physiology and provides tools for systems analysis and signal processing. The book presents the mathematics and the physiology in a closely intertwined manner the physiological data is interpreted based on systems models, and the models are simulated using numerical simulation to show that virtual experiments are comparable to real experiments. It also introduces the use of machine learning and virtual experiments in signal processing. The latter half of the book focuses on physiological systems with chapters on neural communication, excitable tissue stimulation, electromyography, neuromuscular control, cardiovascular blood flow modeling, and infectious disease modeling. Methods for both biophysically detailed models and blackbox models are presented. This textbook is a comprehensive resource to a systems approach to physiology for senior undergraduate and graduate students of engineering, medicine, and allied sciences.
