This volume provides an introduction to the Early Imperial Period, a particularly well documented phase of Roman history (ca. 30 BCE to 120 CE). It offers a social, cultural, and imperial history perspective on the emergence and development of the Roman monarchy and the changes that took place within the most important institutions in Rome and the Empire, such as the Senate and the armies.
