The Dangers of Ionising Radiation

This book is about the health dangers of ionising radiation including from X-rays and CT scans. Evidence from epidemiological, cell and animal studies indicate that exposures to radiation should be minimised. This is especially the case for women and children. This book by a radiation scientist authoritatively examines the growing body of evidence of health effects of ionising radiation. It recommends that health authorities should adopt the Precautionary Principle and tighten existing standards in order to protect people, particularly women and children, from ionising radiation. The book does not discuss non-ionising radiation, including the electromagnetic radiation and electromagnetic fields associated with mobile phones.
