Case Studies in Noise and Vibration Control on Ships

This book presents numerous case studies illustrating engineering strategies which have been used to produce quiet ships. It reflects the author’s personal experience as a consultant on hundreds of vessels. Lessons learned highlight the optimization of treatments, or how to deal with design/construction problems. The intent is to expose the marine community to key facets, lessons learned, and realistic conditions for controlling noise and vibration on ships. Numerous types of vessels are included from large commercial vessels to research vessels to work boats to small boats.
