Anselm L. Strauss gilt als Schlüsselfigur der Medizinsoziologie, der Sozialpsychologie und ganz besonders der qualitativen Forschung. Seine Arbeiten gelten als Klassiker sowohl auf theoretischer als auch auf methodischer Ebene und prägten Generationen von Wissenschaftler*innen. Nun liegt eines seiner letzten Werke „Continual Permutations of Action“ erstmals in deutscher Übersetzung vor. In ihm vereint Strauss den symbolischen Interaktionismus mit dem Pragmatismus in einer Handlungstheorie und liefert so ein spätes Schlüsselwerk.
Anselm L. Strauss is considered a key figure in medical sociology, social psychology and, in particular, qualitative research. His work is considered a classic on both a theoretical and methodological level and has influenced generations of researchers. One of his last works, „Continual Permutations of Action“, is now available in German translation for the first time. In it, Strauss combines symbolic interactionism with pragmatism in a theory of action and thus delivers a late key work.
