Precision Stabilized Pointing and Tracking Systems

This book will discuss the specification, configuration, analysis, design or testing of precision electro-mechanical systems. While the emphasis is on pointing and tracking system applications, the material is generally applicable to any motion-control system design in fields such as robotics or automation. Using a multi-disciplinary approach, this book shows how actuators and measurement device technology must be blended with control algorithms and also take into account key system aspects such as kinematics, dynamics, structural dynamics, signal filtering and optical systems analysis. Fundamental characteristics and limitations of devices and techniques are stressed where applicable.
