Literatur als Übung: Johann Fischarts 'Geschichtklitterung'

Die Studie stellt Üben als produktiven Modus vor, der es der Literatur ermöglicht, an ihren Formen zu arbeiten. Sie zeigt anhand von Fischarts Geschichtklitterung auf, dass sich literarische Selbstbildung nicht autonom vollzieht, sondern auf historischen Praktiken fußt. Bei Fischart wird auf allen Ebenen – von der Sprache bis zur Makrostruktur des Erzählens – mit Praktiken der lateinischen Gelehrsamkeit an einem deutschen Dichten geübt.
This study presents practice as a productive mode that allows literature to work on its forms. It examines Fischart’s Geschichtklitterung to show that literary self-formation does not occur autonomously but is grounded in historical practices. Fischart employed practices of Latin scholarship on all levels – from language to the macrostructure of narration – while refining his practice of German poetry.
