Empowering Sustainability: SDGs and Future Horizons in the Arab Region

The book "Empowering Sustainability: SDGs and Future Horizons in the Arab Region" is a vital publication emerging from a major international conference organized by Hamburg University of Applied Sciences and Qatar University. The book addresses the Arab region's pressing environmental challenges—including severe water scarcity, desertification, and climate change impacts—compounded by rapid urbanization and population growth. The work provides a platform for scholars, policymakers, and practitioners to share best practices and research on sustainable development tailored to the region's specific context. Key topics include renewable energy technologies, water resource management, climate resilience, sustainable urbanization, and food security. The book aligns with national strategies such as the Qatar National Vision 2030 and explores the integration of environmental, economic, and social dimensions of sustainable development. Showcasing case studies and initiatives from across the Arab world, this publication serves as a roadmap for advancing the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and fostering regional collaboration for a sustainable future.
