Public Administration Reforms in the Western Balkans

This book examines public administrative reforms in the Western Balkans. It provides in-depth case studies of administration successes and failures in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Serbia, as well as a cross-country comparison to explore the various factors that drive change, and the outcome of administrative reforms across the region. Attention is also given to the EU accession process, whereby countries within the Western Balkans have sought entry into the European Union, and the extent to which EU-influenced reforms have been successful in bringing about institutional changes and improvements to public administration performance in the region.
