La quête d’une identité salutaire en Ézéchiel

Research on Ezekiel 33–37 highlights an original process of redefining Israel’s identity. These chapters present a quest for salvation within a context of identity crisis. It is neither a simple juxtaposition of pro- golah or pro-diaspora redactions, nor merely an ideological conflict between golah , diaspora, and those who remained in the land. Possession of the land does not guarantee Israel’s identity; inner salvation subverts the exclusive link to the land by showing that, through YHWH’s salvific intervention, all groups—exiles, diaspora, and those who stayed in the land—constitute the true Israel.
This study analyzes the quest for a salvific identity of the people of Israel in Ezekiel 33–37. It shows how the various groups shaped by the exile reconstruct their identity within the exilic and post-exilic contexts, as well as the dynamics of exclusion and inclusion that emerge among them in the definition of the identity of the people of God.
