Gendering Experiences of Work and Management through a Humanistic Lens

Despite many years of theorising on the gendered nature of work, we continue to face intractable inequalities in the workplace, including the gender pay gap, the overrepresentation of women in lower paid occupations and the under-representation of women in senior positions. This collected volume identifies these inequalities and disparities related to work in the professional, public and private spheres and applies a humanistic lens to its analysis, ultimately advocating paths towards bridging the gaps in equality and raising standards and opportunities for women. This anthology was developed using a feminist approach in which we brought all contributors together to participate in the reviewing and mutual development of the chapters. Creative writing approaches were also supported, including autoethnography and storytelling. Individual chapters explore gender identity, racism, the Trump presidency, AI, and several other crucial themes in the context of gender and work. It will be of great interest to students and scholars of gender and diversity in the workplace, business ethics, HR, gender studies and sociology of work.
