Das Badische Wörterbuch dokumentiert den mundartlichen Wortschatz im Gebiet des ehemaligen Großherzogtums Baden, vom Bodensee über den Schwarzwald und die rechtsrheinische Rheinebene bis an den Odenwald und den Main bei Wertheim. Neben dem Wortschatz der lebenden Mundarten werden in geringerem Umfang historisches Wortgut und Namen berücksichtigt.
The Badisches Wörterbuch [dictionary of the Baden dialect] documents the vernacular vocabulary of the area that constituted the former Grand Duchy of Baden, extending from Lake Constance over the Black Forest and the east bank of the Rhine to the Odenwald and the river Main near Wertheim. Apart from the vocabulary of the living dialects' historical expressions and names are also taken into account, albeit to a lesser extent.
