Männlichkeit und soziale Ordnung bei Gottfried Keller

In medialen wie auch wissenschaftlichen Diskursen werden tradierte Vorstellungen von Männlichkeit bzw. männlicher Herrschaft zunehmend kritisch hinterfragt. Die vorliegende Arbeit nähert sich dieser Diskussion auf literarische Weise, indem sie die Allianz von Macht und Männlichkeit am Beispiel des Erzählwerks Gottfried Kellers als Fundament einer sozialen Ordnungspolitik offenlegt, der Unterdrückte und Unterdrücker gleichermaßen unterworfen sind.
Traditional ideas of masculinity and male authority are increasingly being questioned in both media and scholarly discourse. This study contributes to that discussion through an examination of literature. Using the narrative works of Gottfried Keller as case studies, it exposes the alliance of power and masculinity as the foundation of a social order to which the oppressed and the oppressor are subjected in equal measure.
